Hi, up for sale here we a 1979 Motobecane Grand Jubile 12 speed road bicycle. If you are looking for a vintage bike to ride around the neighborhood or tour the countryside, this is the bike for you. This bike was made near the end of Motobecane’s rule of nicely equiped, tastefully done paintwork in their bicycles. I believe this bike was Motobecane’s top touring bike of the era. The frame is constructed of Vitus 172 double butted chromolly tubing. Cosmetically, there are a few scratches/chips in the paint, but the paint still shines like new and overall this is a very nice looking bike as you can see in the photo’s. There are no dents, bends, rust or rewelds on this bike. The chrome fork on this bike looks like it came off from a Peugeot Course, but I will check with the bike shop that sold the bike used and find out why there was a fork change. I don’t see any damage to the frame where a front collision has occured and the original front wheel shows no signs of any accident, so I’m not sure what happened. I checked with the bike shop that sold the bike used and they remember the bike was damaged in a driveway, where a car backed into the bike and bent the fork laterally. They put the frame on a hydrolic frame machine and fixed the little damage done to the bike and it is now straight as an arrow and rides with no hands like it should. Measurements are: Seat tube-22.5″ctc, Top tube-22&5/8″ctc, Standover height is 33″ and Weight is 24lbs. Mechanically, this bike has just been through a complete overhaul and needs nothing. Feel free to contact me on what has been done as it is quite extensive. All bearings/ surfaces have been inspected and cleaned and reassembled with waterproof grease. All cables/housing and brake hoods are new. Components are: Suntour Cyclone derailleurs, Rigida blue label wheels with Normandy hubs, SR cranks and Seatpost, Pivo stem and bars, Kuyokoto pedals in great shape, Weinmann brakes/levers and I believe an Ideale suede seat in great condition. Please look carefully at the photo’s and ask questions as there are no returns. This bike is SOLD AS-IS with no warranty stated or implied. SHIPPING IS TO THE LOWER 48 STATES ONLY. Shipping will be $75.00 to the West coast and $55.00 to the East coast or you can email me for an exact amount. As always, this bike will be professionally packed using foam tubing for the frame and fork and lot’s of buble wrap for parts removed for shipping. i have a used 2011 motobecane immortal pro carbon fiber frame, fork, headset, spacers, stem, handlebars, seat post and collar.the frame and fork are made of high modulus carbon fiber. the seat post is carbon fiber wrapped. the spacers are carbon fiber. the headset is i think fsa. the stem and handlebars are alloy.i purchased a fully assembled bike that was to big for me. i bought a proper size frame and transferred all of the components over to it. the frame is low miles and in almost new condition. there are some minor cable rub marks. there are no gouges or scratches in the frame. from 3 feet away you would think the frame was new. bikes direct sells just the bare frame on there site for $495. that only includes the seat post clamp. not the fork or any other components. bike island, a division of bikes direct, is selling the frame and fork without a headset, and seat post clamp only, without anything else for $600 on ebay now. i am selling a complete bike with everything except the components FOR MUCH LESS. also all motobecane immortal frames are the same geometry no matter what the brand is. the spirit, pro, ice and other names are the same. the names are different by the type of components that are installed on it from the factory. the geometry is the same for all of the years.

the scratches on the handlebars are from aero bars. when i bought this bike i was told it was only used on 1 iron man triathlon. the bike was ridden on a trainer to get a proper fitting then 1 race. no training rides nothing else so there should be around 100 miles on this frame. the person purchased another trek triathlon specific bike to do better on the other ones he has entered.

Motobecane fully lugged bike. Reynolds 725 chromoly tubing. Reynolds 725 is one of the top modern steel tubeset made by Reynolds and it is often used by top custom builders for their top of the line steel bikes.
Reynolds 725, Heat Treated, Ult. Strength 157-186 ksi, 725 is a hybrid heat-treated Chromoly alloy.
This bike measures 56 cm center to top with a 56 cm top tube. Seat angle is 74 degrees and head angle is 73.5 making this bike very quick handling.
The frame has around 1000 miles, and it is in top condition. Ride is super smooth with incredible road feel. It is one of the best handling bikes I’ve ever had along with a Specialized allez steel. It is a tad big for me. Very few tine paint chips if any.
Components include a campy racing triple crankset, shimano sora rear derailleur with shimano 9 speed bar end shifters. The wheels are vuelta 130mm rims 20 bladed spokes in the front and 24 in the rear. These wheels are super strong and can handle up to 220 pounds. The hubs are sealed and super smooth.
The bike is ready to ride and in excellent shape. Gatsby is not included with the bike.

Unique Vintage Motobecane frame and fork built with Columbus Cromor tubes, with unique top tube brake cable routing, flat rear upper stays shape, differential shape of down tube and unique seatpost clamping. Perfect technical condition and excellent cosmetics. Just few marks, scratches and paint chips from regular use here and there. Beutiful classic.

The weight is 752 grams for the fork and 2078 grams for the frame

This is how I pack the frames

The rules:

1. The whole frame and fork are wrpped with many layers of bubble wrap foil.

2. The adhesive tapes are never applied directly to the paint.

3. The heavy wooden blocks are put between the dropouts in place of the hubs in frame and fork.

4. The whole box and frame is filled with the styrofoam block exactly of the with of box.

The end result – you can drop the box, press it, put it flat on the floor and lay on it, throw it or kick it and possiblity of the frame damage is quite close to zero.

I do care and pack extremely safe!

Nice Colorado rust free frame.
Fully lugged.
Nice horizontal rear dropouts for easy single speed conversion.
Chrome front fork ends and dropouts
Eyelets on front and rear dropouts.
Built in frame top brake cable housing guides.
Square tapered bottom bracket.
Used.

Includes: Free steel seat post and seat post bolt.
Free front and rear headset and seat post brake cable guides.

Frame is in solid, straight condition.. no cracks, or bends…..see photos.
Headset and BB turn freely….may need repacked.
Paint is in good condition.. some minor chipping and fading…see photos.
