Jamis Bicycles is an American distributor of bicycles, designed in the USA and built primarily in China and Taiwan. Jamis was acquired in 1990 by its parent company G. Joannou Cycle Co., Inc. and is currently headed by Carine Joannou, CEO of G. Joannou Cycles since taking over the family business when her father died in 1981. Founded in 1937 by George Joannou, GJC is one of the oldest and largest bicycle companies under original family ownership in the United States.
